Beauty & Wellness Day at Coler-Goldwater Hospital
I am delighted to be a creator and producer of the bi-annual Beauty & Wellness Day at Coler-Goldwater Hospital, on Roosevelt Island, NY. Coler-Goldwater provides long-term medical care for people who have been disabled through accident or illness and cannot afford home health care.
I coordinate a team of makeup artists, hair stylists, manicurists and energy healers to donate their time and talents for a day of beautifying and healing.
This special event is made possible by The Angelica Organization and Ron Becker, Director of Therapeutic Recreation at Coler-Goldwater. The Beauty & Wellness team is comprised of both seasoned pros and beginners, courtesy of Aveda Carsten Institute andReiki and Healing Now.
Fashion photographers Barry Hollywood and Hanif Abdur-Rahim have also participated in the event, shooting portraits and behind the scene shots (as seen here). Beauty brands such as Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, Polish Bar, Kett Cosmetics and e.l.f. have donated their products for residents the gift bags. At our last event, Omena's Organic Bliss catered a delicious, healthy meal.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to brighten the lives of the residents at Coler-Goldwater. It is truly a rewarding and heartwarming experience for everyone involved. In the future, I wish to share Beauty & Wellness Day with other hospitals and organizations.
