5 Safe Sunscreens for All Budgets

Hey beautiful, with summer in full swing, there’s something I’ve been wondering about...

Is applying sunscreen one of your daily morning rituals?

Because when it comes to loving the skin we’re in, it’s crucial to protect it from harmful sun damage, such as sunburn, premature aging (think wrinkles, skin discoloration, and loss of elasticity), and even skin cancer.

Choosing a sunscreen that is mineral-based (with active ingredients like zinc or titanium dioxide) rather than chemical-based (with active ingredient oxybenzone) is also important.

Various studies have shown that oxybenzone can cause harm to our bodies, acting as a disruptor to our hormones, as well as negatively impacting our oceans, particularly coral reefs and other marine life.

That’s why I have gathered my top 5 sunscreens for you that are safe, mineral-based, and derived from plants!

Considering different budget ranges was important to me, as I understand what it’s like to have limited resources. Skincare can often feel like a luxurious investment, so it’s often difficult to decide when to splurge and when to save.

I suggest opting for affordable products that promote sustainability. However, if you can afford to invest a little more in a sunscreen that contains high-quality ingredients and can even double as a moisturizer (like my all-time favorite @joshrosebrook), it’s definitely worth it!

🌞 They are lightweight and non-greasy.

💦 They easily absorb into my skin without leaving a white residue (remember to apply moisturizer first!).

🌿 They feature nourishing plant-based ingredients that offer additional skincare benefits.

👃🏼 They have a pleasant scent (great for those who are sensitive to fragrances, like me!).
